Stevie Nemazee

Stevie Nemazee, CalArts

Stevie Nemazee is a scenographer and puppet maker with a passion for cinematic landscapes, performing objects, and character design.

Born in Switzerland, Stevie graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a BFA in Film Studies focusing in experimental film and animation, before pursuing her MFA in theater design at CalArts.

Stevie’s recent collaborations include House of Gold and the premiers of In the RavineAnother Troyand the dance piece Lock & Key. Her current devised creative works include the puppetry and video performance, Tutelarius, which will premiere at the Vortex Dome in Los Angeles and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016.

In addition to her design work, Stevie has assisted renowned Aboriginal artists including Kathleen Kngale and curated for the National Film and Sound Archive, Sydney.
