Andy Jean, NYU/Tisch

“I am a proud Haitian storyteller. I have always wanted to share my culture and experiences with the world. The women who raised me have shaped my identity. They taught me to be fearless, resilient, and to tell the stories of those who history has almost forgotten—their imprint on this world slowly fading away. I stand tall and I am constantly inspired to work harder and keep the spirit of my grandmothers alive.”

Andy Jean is a New York based Costume Designer for Stage and Film.

A few of the places he has worked include the Santa Fe Opera, Spoleto Festival, and the Chautauqua Theatre Company. Recent works include: Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike, Playboy of the West Indies, A Doll’s House, Once on This Island, Once Upon a Mattress, A Raisin in the Sun, and Riders to the Sea.
